With the gut wrenching dud that was the recent re-boot of Fox’s Fantastic Four franchise, most people have been hoping that they’d either give up and shelve the project or, in a best case scenario, turn the property over to it’s rightful owner, Marvel Studios. While the later is unlikely due to Fox’s level of stubbornness set at over 9,000, the latest rumors have it that we just might be in for a Fantastic Four sequel that absolutely no one is asking for.
With a top critic score of 5% on Rotten Tomatoes and a domestic gross of just over $55 million, the film was a fantastic flop, yet producer Simon Kindberg told MTV over the weekend that, “I’m really focused on the next one. Every time you make a movie, you want to make a great movie. It’s a ton of time and effort you put in. We made that movie in the sweltering heat of summer in Baton Rouge and I was there every day of photography. You’re waking up every morning being like, I want to go make a great movie. It was an opportunity to do that. I do believe there is a great ‘Fantastic Four’ movie that we’ve made with that cast. So I’m gonna figure out what that is. We’re figuring out what that movie would be. I’d like that to happen.”
Well, there you have it. Fox is going to continue pushing junk down people’s throats while expecting them to just sit back and take it. If the failure that was this movie doesn’t teach them a lesson, nothing will which leaves us pleading please, Fox; please, please, please give the rights to FF back to Marvel already…Follow Us:
