Will Mads Mikkelsen Be in Dr. Strange or Not?

We don’t know about the rest of you, but we’re pretty anxious to find out whether or not the rumor that Hannibal’s, Mads Mikkelsen, will be joining the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Dr. Strange is true or not.

Early rumors pegged it to be a near solid thing and IMDB.com currently has the actor listed, although the listing next to his name has been changed to ‘rumored’. The actor has currently been working on Star Wars: Rogue One in an undisclosed major role, but we haven’t heard much from him on what he could potentially pick up in Dr. Strange, that is, until now.

According to Dark Horizons, in a recent interview, the former Casino Royal star actually had a bit to say on the matter, stating that, “I know as much as the rest of the world. So far it’s been rumors, so I’m waiting on a phone call… It would be fantastic to be a part of the Marvel family. I mean, it’s something we all grew up with. We all have our heroes, and Doctor Strange is definitely one of the more interesting things.”

Allegedly he also clarified that if he were to get a roll in Dr. Strange, that he would be, “over the moon.”

Well, damn.

I know that doesn’t confirm or deny anything, but hopefully it does get some wheels turning and we find out soon. It’s very possible that they’re still playing things close to the chest and that he’s not allowed to talk about his involvement due to the nature of his role.

Some have speculated that he could be playing any one of an array of Strange’s villains, but the most interesting theories have him playing Dormammu, who is basically Marvel’s equivalent of the devil.

While that would be an AMAZING role for Mikkelsen, we’re just going to have to continue to wait to find out, but dammit Marvel, we’re hoping you pull your stuff together and make this happen soon because we couldn’t think of a cooler addition to your already incredible sounding movie!
