The Superbowl was kind of the gift that kept on giving yesterday, dropping off new trailer after new trailer, most notably, the new and highly anticipated trailer for Marvel’s upcoming, Captain America; Civil War.
For a 30 second TV spot, the new trailer drops a whole lot of insight into the new movie, highlighting the conflict between Tony Stark, Captain America, and his friend and partner Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier. Set to a backdrop of chanting, “united we stand, divided we fall,” the trailer really captures the dark, emotional beats that are expected of the film all while painting a picture that’s as confusing for us as it our heroes.
At one point in the trailer, Bucky Barnes tries to straight shoot Tony Stark in the face at point blank range, only to be stopped by what appears to be some new Iron Man tech. You also see a shot of Cap & Winter Soldier fortifying a corridor in which they eventually confront Iron Man, which is a slightly expanded upon shot from what we had seen previously in the first trailer.
Further more, we can a good clear view of Team Cap and Team Iron Man standing off against one another, which is the first we’ve seen outside of the pre-released concept art.
All in all, this film is doing a great job with it’s marketing releasing a little at a time while giving us just enough to ramp up anticipation for the film. So who’s side are you on? Are you #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan. As always, let us know if the comments section below!
