Well, that makes sense. In an interview with MTV International for his upcoming movie, Pan, Hugh Jackman was asked the inevitable question of who he thinks should pick up the mantel of the Wolverine.
Jackman of course helped bring the iconic character to life and has since appeared in 7 movies as Marvel’s adamantium boned hero with at least two more films on the way. In recent years many have speculated as to who might eventually take over the role, but it appears as though Jackman himself has the perfect answer.
In the interview, Jackman explained, “I’ve been asked that question a lot and I’m always like I don’t want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me, I’ve still got one more to do you know. I’m sure they’re already talking about it and I’m sure there’s some actor out there who they’ve already said ‘shhh keep it quite, but we want you next!’ He’d have to be younger than me for sure, but I think Tom Hardy would be great.”
BINGO! Great pick Hugh. After his recently role in Mad Max and his experience with comic book films, we couldn’t agree more. Hardy would absolutely be a solid pick, but the question now is will the studios head Jackman’s advice? Only time will tell, but what do you think? Yay of nay to Tom Hardy as Wolverine.
