It looks like the folks over at Collider have gotten Wolverine himself to start opening up a bit about the role that Patrick Stewart is alleged to take in the third installment of the Logan-centric franchise.
It’s been long rumored that Stewart would be involved, but Hugh Jackman took the time to explain to Collider that is in the cards to include Professor X. “Patrick does figure in it that’s for sure. I think it’s a really important relationship but I want to see signs of that quasi-father/son sort of relationship that has not been seen before, and sides of particularly Professor X that have not been seen before. So we have some really, really cool ideas,” explains Jackman.
In regard to the films time frame, he tells Collider, “Look, I’m going to be really honest with you, the actual script in it’s full form, we’re up to about page 60. Obviously there’s a treatment, so it’s not fully done yet and we’re not fully there, but Patrick does figure into it, that’s for sure.”
Well, we’re sure looking forward to see where they’re taking this and another opportunity to see Patrick Stewart reprise his role as Professor X is a welcome opportunity, but what do you think? Do you want to see Stewart show back up in the next Wolverine? Do you think they should play a father/son dichotomy? Let us know in the comments section below.
