First Image from War of the Planet of the Apes Released

Word’s been pretty quite from the Planet of the Apes camp as of late, but earlier today we were treated to our very first glimpse into the film.

In a Tweet put out by the films director, Matt Reeves, we see a beach shot featuring two figures and horse. Granted it’s minimal and we learn absolutely nothing from this shot really to the point where we can’t even tell if we’re looking at humans or humanoid apes, but it is proof that things are moving along with the film.

It does kind of look like the coastline shot from the original where Charlton Heston looks up to see a broken Statue of Liberty, but then, who knows…

Either way, War of the Planet of the Apes is still a long ways off, but are you excited for this film? The first two films were pretty solid and we’re hoping that the third film continues on in that vein, but what do you think? Let us know all about your thoughts and dreams for this film in the comments section below.
