Earlier today, the folks at Entertainment Weekly debuted nine new exclusive posters for the upcoming movie, Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, courtesy of the folks at Warner Brothers. The posters themselves highlight some of the main characters in the upcoming film, but one poster in particular has a fairly interesting little throwback to one of the earlier Harry Potter films.
In the poster that features Colin Farrell’s, Percival Graves, he is seen standing alongside a very familiar figure in the form of a necklace. In fact, the necklace is the same one that we first saw in Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows worn by Xenophilius Lovegood, father of fan favorite, Luna Lovegood. The icon on the necklace represents the deathly hallows, which in the movie, are three items that allow the bearer to become the master of death; the elder wand, the resurrection stone, and the clock of invisibility.
Will these items play into the new movie or is this meant as merely a nod to the other films as Farrel’s character is set to be the director of magical security. At this point it’s hard to say, but the last time we saw the elder wand, Harry Potter himself broke it and threw it over the bridge at Hogwarts, so it’s likely just an homage, but only time will tell.
