Buffy Alum Emma Caulfield Joins Cast of CBS’ Supergirl

It was all too recently I was engaged in a discussion regarding the current whereabouts of Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumni, Emma Caulfield. She was always an amazing addition to that show whether she was a love scorned vengeance demon or loyal part of the Scooby gang, she brought a certain, straightforward perspective to the show that was always very welcome. After much pondering over what the hell happened to Caulfield, today we finally learned that she’ll be returning to the small screen.

In fact, she’ll be joining CBS’ new runaway hit, Supergirl, which should help give that show a bit more dimension, depending of course on the size of the role she’ll be given. She’s slated to take on the role of DC comics, Cameron Chase, an agent of the Department of Extranormal Operations, and she’s only contracted to appear in one episode. The DEC is currently playing a central role in the show, although it sounds as though Chase’s character is actually going to be a member of the FBI, so it’s a bit of a departure from her comic book role. We’re hoping that she turns into a fast fan favorite and is brought in to do more episodes in the future, possibly even switching teams and moving from the FBI to the DEC.

According to CBS’ official description, “After her father’s violent murder, Cameron Chase decided to dedicate her life to law enforcement. With little sympathy, and plenty of suspicions, she pursues her targets with ruthless determination.”

This could be a really great role for Caulfield and could add a new aspect or dynamic to the show.

So what do you think? Are you glad to see the return of Emma Caulfield or could you care less about Supergirl? Have you been watching the show? What are you thoughts and theories on where it’s going? As always, let us know in the comments section below!
