Batman: The Killing Joke Official Trailer is Dark. Real Dark.

Wow! The official trailer for DC’s animated take on the Batman classic, Batman: The Killing Joke, just dropped and without hesitation, I can easily say that it’s the only current Batman movie in production right now that I actually really want to see.

Bringing back the original cast of voice actors for Batman: The Animated Series, including both Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, Bruce Timm and team look to be really outdoing themselves. We recently learned that the film would get the proper R rating that it deserves making it the first legitimate adult animated feature from DC. Even the animated adaptation of The Dark Knight Returns managed to land a PG-13, so you can bet your money that this is going to be intense.

Based off of Alan Moore’s legendary comic of the same name, the film will portray an early origin for Batman’s longest running arch-nemesis, the Joker, and will also capture the ill-fated story of Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl.

While there is currently no set release date for the film, it’s expected that Bruce Timm plans to premier the movie at the San Diego Comic Con this July. Until then, just sit back and let this trailer creep you to your core!
