Ant Man Marks Seventh Consecutive Marvel Movie to Top $500M

By now, unless you’re living under some kind of weird rock, you’re probably well aware that any property that Marvel Studios put’s out, tends to bring in some serious bank. This was again proven by their latest effort, and also one of their smallest, Ant Man.

It was reported yesterday that Marvel’s Ant Man managed to rake in over $500M at the box office world wide making it the seventh consecutive Marvel film to do that and ninth overall. In a report by Forbes, the last film to fall beneath the $500M mark was Captain America; The First Avenger back in 2011. On the flipside of that, it’s the first movie since The First Avenger to not take in more than $600M, but hey, what can ya do?!

Given the fact that Ant Man cast the studio a measly $130M to make, they’ve more than earned their keep, especially since the film has yet to hit Blu-Ray, in which case the earnings will continue to soar. It’s no wonder that Marvel recently announced a previously un-slated sequel to the movie, currently titled Ant Man & the Wasp currently set to release in 2018.

So are you happy that Marvel’s smallest hero managed to keep up with the rest of the big boys? Does this give you even higher hopes for the sequel or do you think all of the fat stacks of cash are going to start going to their heads? As always, let us know what you think in the comments section below!
